7,000 Solarcheck Technical Blind Systems for Tour F in Abidjan, Africa’s Tallest Building

Solarcheck will take part in one of the most significant architectural milestones on the African continent by supplying nearly 7,000 motorised technical blind systems for Tour F in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. At 421 metres tall, this skyscraper will become the tallest building in Africa and one of the continent’s most iconic architectural landmarks.

This large-scale project strengthens Solarcheck’s international track record and demonstrates our technical expertise in delivering solar shading and privacy solutions for major architectural developments, where large dimensions, mechanical reliability and aesthetics are critical factors.

Tour F: A New Architectural Icon for the African Skyline

Standing 421 metres high with 76 floors, Tour F in Abidjan is set to become a new benchmark in Africa’s urban landscape.

Designed by Lebanese-Ivorian architect Pierre Fakhoury and developed by PFO Africa, the project will feature more than 140,000 m² of built area and a highly complex glazed building envelope. Its double-skin façade is composed of 16,000 glass panels arranged symmetrically to evoke the silhouette of a traditional African mask.

7,000 Motorised Technical Blinds: Technical Challenges

In a building of this scale, located in a tropical climate with intense solar radiation, daylight management and solar control are essential. As the tower is designed for high-level business activity, there was a third key requirement: privacy and visibility control for interior spaces.

Solarcheck will supply nearly 7,000 motorised technical blind systems for Tour F. This is a large-scale supply project that requires industrial capacity, technical coordination, and systems capable of integrating seamlessly into a building of exceptional dimensions.

The strategic choice of Solarcheck’s motorised blinds responds to three key technical requirements within the building envelope: privacy, thermal and visual comfort, and large-scale automation.

This project will help achieve:

  • Reduce glare in workspaces.
  • Improve users’ visual comfort.
  • Manage natural daylight more efficiently.
  • Limit solar heat gain inside the building.
  • Support the building’s energy efficiency strategies.
  • Integrate solar protection into the architectural design.
  • Provide privacy throughout the building’s interior.

The motorisation of the systems will also simplify operation and management, an especially important feature when working with thousands of units installed within a single building.

The number of systems planned for Tour F makes this one of the most significant technical blind projects in Solarcheck’s history.

Sustainable Architecture with International EDGE Certification

Tour F has achieved the prestigious international EDGE green building certification (promoted by the World Bank), ensuring outstanding standards in sustainable construction, material optimisation and energy efficiency.

By implementing our technical blind systems, we help corporate buildings significantly reduce their carbon footprint and air conditioning costs. The thermal barrier created by our technical blinds helps lower cooling demand while optimising the building’s operational costs.

Technical Blind Solutions for Major International Projects

The Tour F supply project marks another milestone in Solarcheck’s international expansion.

At Solarcheck, we work alongside architects, engineering firms, construction companies and industry professionals to develop solar shading solutions for buildings, from the initial design and technical specification stages through manufacturing and system supply.

Taking part in a project of Tour F’s scale demonstrates our ability to bring this technical expertise to major international developments. This adaptability is built on Solarcheck’s technical know-how and the work of highly specialised professionals.

Tour F will become the new icon of the African skyline in 2026, and solutions such as Solarcheck’s technical blinds prove that aesthetics and technology must go hand in hand in shaping the skyscrapers of the future.
