Bank buildings require a careful balance between transparency, comfort and privacy. At Banco Brescia’s offices in Italy, the high solar exposure of certain façades caused glare, increased indoor temperatures and excessive visibility from outside in sensitive customer service areas.

The project carried out by Solarcheck, covering approximately 1,500 m² of glazed surfaces, aimed to optimise indoor conditions while preserving the building’s distinctive corporate image.

For this purpose, the high-performance Sentinel Plus DX 05 window film was selected. This advanced solution features Dual Reflective technology and is particularly suitable for combining solar control, visual comfort and privacy.

The film delivers outstanding performance, rejecting up to 91% of total solar energy (TSER) and up to 93% of infrared radiation, significantly reducing the building’s indoor heat load. It also provides glare reduction of up to 95%, a key factor in workplaces with screens and customer service areas.

One of the key features of Sentinel Plus DX 05 is its balance between solar protection and visual clarity. Thanks to its low interior reflectivity (≈15%), it maintains excellent outward visibility from inside, while its higher exterior reflectivity helps improve daytime privacy by reducing visibility from outside without the need for additional solutions.

In addition, the film blocks more than 99% of ultraviolet radiation, protecting furniture, finishes and documents against deterioration and fading caused by prolonged solar exposure. Its low solar factor (g-value as low as 0.09) and high solar heat gain reduction (SHGR up to 89%) further enhance the overall energy performance of the building.

The installation created more comfortable and functional spaces, improving both the customer experience and staff working conditions. Stabilising indoor temperatures and reducing glare optimised the use of the spaces while reducing reliance on HVAC systems.

This project demonstrates how a state-of-the-art solar control solution can add significant value to corporate buildings by combining energy efficiency, comfort, privacy and a refined aesthetic consistent with the institution’s image.
